Over the last two years, necessary restrictions and safety measures kept many organizations from conducting normal in-person business. We here at East Side Health District were no exception. In order to properly fight the pandemic, we had to implement stricter guidelines than most and either shut down certain programs or make them virtual. Through it all, we missed you.

Our community is the lifeblood of East Side Health District, and we are at our best when you are here with us. For years we’ve partnered with the public on maintaining our F.R.E.S.H. Community Garden, held fall festivals and Trunk or Treat for the kids at Halloween, welcomed nursing students into our facility for valuable hands-on training, and taught food vendors safety classes to advance their small businesses and, most importantly, provided vital health services to your families and neighbors.

The pandemic brought many challenges. It required sacrifice and flexibility. During this time, we had to move beyond these four walls of our clinic and get out into the community, bringing COVID-19 testing and vaccine services to those in need. We went to schools, factories, community centers, senior living facilities, prisons, food plants, bus depots, churches, local festivals, and more.

Thanks to your cooperation, East Side Health District was able to administer close to 20,000 COVID-19 vaccination doses in just over a year.

And while we are still been diligent in light of new variants and potential new vaccine recommendations, we are ready to move into the next phase of the pandemic.

So, to show our appreciation for your patience, we are officially reopening our facility for all services. Starting in May, you will be welcome back on site for all your health department needs. And to kick things off, we are having a Grand Reopening Ceremony on Monday, May 16, 2022, at noon. The event will take place at our main office on North 20th Street, and will feature free food, music, and gift bags for the public, as well as an awards presentation acknowledging the organizations that partnered with us during the last two years. You will also have an opportunity to speak to representatives from our various departments and learn how East Side Health District can help you and your family meet your health needs.

We have missed you and we hope you will come to celebrate with us as we welcome you back to East Side Health District.
